Olympic Fever at Treloar Physio!!! GO CANADA GO!
Treloar staff members volunteer their time and expertise....
~Lesley Cuddington, a receptionist at Treloar, volunteered with ice hockey events at Canada Hockey Place. Her job was in the details, making sure that everything was in order for these games to run on time, as well as ensuring schedules and results got into all the right hands! Good thing she was well trained for her volunteer position by organizing our schedules at TPC!!!!
~Carol Kennedy, a physiotherapist and partner of Treloar Physio, took part in the 4th Olympic Symposium on Sport Medicine and Sport Physiotherapy.
Regarding the topic: Prevention and Management of Head Injuries in Sport, Carol discussed the following question: "Could the Cervical Spine Contribute to Post-Concussion Symptoms?"
Carol also presented the topic "Assessment and Management of the Cervical Spine Contribution to Post-Concussion Symptoms" at the Diagnosis and Treatment of Neck Injuries In Sport Symposium.
Carol was also an on-call therapist for the Olympic Specialist Clinic, treating athletes with neck injuries.
~Bill Treloar, a physiotherapist and partner of Treloar Physio, was able to watch all the heart-stopping matches while he was Physiotherapist for the Canadian curling team!!
~Penny Galpin, a physiotherapist at Treloar Physio, volunteered with "Transportation" at the Main Media Centre in downtown Vancouver. She assisted members of the media in getting around our city by providing information about public transit and road closures, as well as kept track of who was coming and going at the Media Centre. As she put it, "I kept people moving, much like I do here at the clinic!!"

TPC's Big Give was a huge success!! TPC challenged its team to make an impact in our community and the results were outstanding. The clinic was broken into teams of 5 and each group was given $50 to spend in a creative way that would benefit the charity of their choice. The results were amazing! Through bake sales, jam sales, clothing drives, 50/50 ticket sales and more we were able to give to the following charities:
- Downtown Eastside Women's Shelter
- Canucks Place
- Vancouver Food Bank
- Salvation Army's "Adopt-A-Family" and more....
We raised over $2000, donated over 15 bags of clothing and had a great time working together to make a difference. Thank you to everyone who participated and to all of our patients who made such generous donations!
