Inspiration; Stimulation of the mind or emotions to a high level of feeling or activity.

What inspires you?

Inspiration is a necessity for each soul. Whether it be family, aloneness, yoga, food, art, music or nature… motivating the mind is vital. Life is filled with interruptions, but make sure those interruptions don’t take over the big picture of what it is that you truly want. Stay inspired and you will not forget your happiness.

Since the Treloar Studio is making esthetic changes to the space, our thought process was – how will our guests and friends feel when they practice wellness in this room? Studies have shown that how a person feels is largely dependent on the space and environment they are in, even wall colour affects someone’s mood.

The colours we have incorporated in the studio this time around are neutral and earthy. The colour palate we have chosen evoke solidity, maturity, dependability, tranquility and positive energy. We have included a more rustic look while keeping it simple, inviting and calming.

Life is about living in the moment and experiencing all of your surroundings. We want you to feel at home when you visit us for Yoga & Pilates. We believe this new changed space is a new beginning for everyone.

We’re thrilled to announce The Studio at Treloar will be re-opening on Monday, March 26th for classes after closing due to an electrical fire. To celebrate being back at The Studio we’re offering complimentary yoga on Tuesday, April 3rd. Stop by for tea, yoga and mingling! We’ve missed having you on the mat and hope to see you back again soon.

This passage spoke to us here at the Treloar Clinic & Studio. We would like to share it with you:

“Meditation can be challenging. Even after you’ve had a taste of its benefits and long for those sweet moments of inner calm, clarity, and deep connection, it can be hard to just sit. If you’re like most people, you may find that one day your mind is speeding into the future, your body feels agitated, and you can’t sit still, while the next day you’re so lethargic that you can hardly stay awake. Don’t be discouraged. Resting with ease in meditation doesn’t magically happen. But there is a path to help you get there: Through your breath, you can tap into the flow of prana (life force) to increase, decrease, or focus your energy, bringing you into a state of balance and making it easier to sit with relaxed attention in meditation.” – Yoga Journal

On a scale to 1 to 10, ask yourself how good you feel in the following categories. Be honest with yourself and note where you need to focus your energy this week.

Physical: Are you comfortable? How do you feel about your body?

Emotional: Are you emotionally balanced. Are you happy?

Occupational: Are you productive? Are you fulfilled?

Spiritual: Are you connecting with your spirit?

Social: Are you having fun? Are you making an effort to enrich your life?

Intellectual: Do you feel challenged? Are you continuously educating yourself?

These are six categories that are very hard to keep balanced. Life is about continually improving one’s self. Asking yourself these questions on a regular basis is a good way to see if each of these categories in your life are fulfilled.

What relaxes you? Ask your body what it needs to let go of the day to day anxieties. For some it is a beautiful sunset. For others it might be lighting candles and playing soft music. It may be a hot shower, a massage, yoga, perhaps a moment of silence or a nap. We urge you to ask yourself what make you feel grounded, energized, and positive. We challenge you to do this activity every day even on those days you don’t feel that you need a moment to yourself. Your body deserves attention and so does your soul. Cherish your being.

While practicing Yoga, Pilates or even while stretching, the scent of a space can play a huge part in your personal, zen moment. Although you can choose many oils to burn while being in a meditative space, Lavender is one to single out.

The delightful Lavender – the root of the Latin word means “to wash” or “to clean”. This oil has been used for decades for the cleaning of the body and of the spirit. This herb has been known to produce calming, soothing and sedative effects for the mind. Clinical studies have reported that lavender can be beneficial for insomnia, anxiety, stress & recovery following a surgical operation.

When you are feeling overwhelmed or consumed in an unbalanced place, take some time to yourself. Take a time out with some lavender on your neck or burning in the candle light. You are important.

Even better than regular water after Yoga or Pilates is Coconut Water. Coconut Water has five key electrolytes: potassium, magnesium, phosphorous, sodium and calcium. Your body readily absorbed the coconut nutrients and convert it into immediate energy and re-hydration. More nutritious than whole milk or fresh orange juice, Coconut water is a universal donor that has saved lives in 3rd world countries thru Coconut IV.
