Hatha yoga describes any physical practice of yoga. When you do Iyengar yoga this is hatha and when you do Ashtanga yoga this is also hatha yoga. It combines standing and seated postures with breath, and invites us to explore what is really happening in our minds. “Hatha yoga” can be used interchangeably with “yoga.”
At The Studio your hatha classes will likely be a slow-paced stretched and strengthening class with some simple breathing and relaxation exercises at the start and end of class. This is a good place to learn basic poses, relaxation techniques, and become comfortable with yoga. Each instructor will teach a slightly different class, however modifications and options will be provided so that the class is appropriate for all levels of yogi.
Increase your strength, deepen your flexibility, quiet your mind, and . . . breathe.
