Elan Cross

Elan took up yoga in 2001 as a complement to her career as a dancer.  She loved what the practice was doing for her strength, flexibility, stamina, and balance, and she soon discovered that these benefits were not just apparent in her body, but in her mind as well.  She realized that yoga was changing her into a more peaceful, centered, and ultimately happy person.  These days, Elan hardly finds time to get to dance class, but she practices her sun salutations every morning to set the tone for her entire day.  Elan teaches hatha, prenatal, and mom and baby yoga, believing that it is never too early (or too late) to begin this amazing and transformative practice.

Susan Van Zaig

Susan turned to yoga as an alternative health treatment after being diagnosed with an arthritic condition so rapidly progressive doctors predicted she would be unable to walk. When years of practice not only cured her condition but reversed the effects of it, she began to understand yoga’s enormous impact and potential on one’s physical and mental health.

A former actor and internationally exhibited artist, Susan began focusing on a career in yoga after 15 years of practice. She began her 1st formal training in India and concluded her 2nd training in Vancouver.

She is a founding member of the Santa Fe Buddhist Society and her interest in meditation led her to Tibet for two months of intensive exploration. She holds a BFA from Ryerson University and studied Psychology at York University.

Janaki

“My aunt taught me yoga. My grandmother lived until her 108th year. I knew in my 40’s I had to find a way to maintain my body in top health and flexibility if I was to follow the legacy of my grandma. Yoga asanas keep us flexible. The yogis say ‘you are as old as your spine’. ”

Janaki is passionate about Yoga and what it has done to guide those she has taught toward a healthier life. Janaki began yoga when, after years of active sports, she found her approach in her life shifted from an action-oriented lifestyle to more reflective & spiritual. Today Janaki gravitates toward teaching Hatha Flow, Group Yoga Therapy & Chair Yoga for those in their Golden years. Here at Treloar, Janaki will be leading Yoga Therapy Classes for the Lower Back, TGIF Yoga and Chair Yoga for all ages, especially our 65+ students. Pam Pedlow

"Don't let what you can't do interfere with what you can" (John Woode). This has been Pam’s philosophy, for as long as she remembers. Pams goals are to break the barriers induced by chronic injury, teach correct movement patterns and restore free movement in both adult and youth populations. She is determined to remove the word 'can't' from our vocabulary. Where there is the will, there should be a way, and Pam would like to help you find it.

I build programs, which people can do, so eventually they will be able to do what they can't!

Pam works as a personal trainer for multi-sport and endurance athletes and teaches group strength, core and athletic conditioning classes. She is also a published author, providing articles on strength, core, power and sport conditioning for both national (Fitness Trainer Canada, The Golf Letter), international (IDEA Personal Trainer) and online (Sissel, AATRA Trail Times, The Stretching Handbook) publications. Pam is also active in presenting workshops on strength and athletic training to both group fitness instructors and personal trainers in British Columbia.

On an athletic level, Pam participates in distance events such as marathons and ultra trail races. In her spare time she can be found on the golf course.
