Treloar Physiotherapy Clinic: Carolane Chevrier

MPT, Clinical Pilates Instructor, Pelvic Floor Therapist

What is your background & training?

I’ve initially done a degree in business/marketing, before redirecting towards Health Sciences and Physiotherapy.  I did all my schooling at University of Sherbrooke, in Quebec.  That is also where I did my training for pelvic floor therapy.  Then when I moved to Vancouver, I heard about Clinical Pilates  – which I had never heard in Quebec. Sounded like the perfect combination with my pelvic floor training.

What inspired you to choose this career path?

I’ve always wanted to help other people, and as I was aiming towards a totally different career path for my first studies, I realized that I needed to be doing this in my day-to-day to feel fulfilled. I had always been fascinated by the human body, and sports and exercises have always been important to me, so it was naturally a good direction for me to be a Physiotherapist.

Why do you choose to work at Treloar?

Treloar is renowned abroad – I had heard of Treloar before even moving to BC.  I think it is important to be surrounded by inspiring people, and also by many people; it keeps you growing and learning.

What are you personally passionate about?

I love to travel, and I love to move! So anything that implies outdoors, a rink, water, mountains, trails, …
