What is your background & training?
I completed my Master of Science in Physical Therapy at the University of Toronto in 2016. Prior to that, I completed my Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology from Simon Fraser University (SFU) where I was also Captain and an Academic All-Canadian as a member of the Women’s Varsity Volleyball team.
What inspired you to choose this career path?
As a competitive athlete, I had my fair share of injuries. Physiotherapy always got me back on the court or on the field, even when I was told by doctors that I would be fine and it would be easier if I just stopped playing. I wanted to help people in the same way physiotherapy helped me, and give people back their power over their injuries and show them they can still do what they enjoy doing.
Why do you choose to work at Treloar?
I wanted to be surrounded by the best of the best. We learn from and teach each other daily, and I’m only becoming a better and better therapist by working next to my very talented colleagues. Treloar has the best therapists in the Physiotherapy game, and it has such a fun, inspiring, team atmosphere that really fit with my background as an athlete.
What are you personally passionate about?
Helping my patients learn they can still do the things they enjoy!
Outside of work, I still play volleyball; I also play soccer, hike, and enjoy the beautiful sea wall for a run. Spending time with my friends is also a huge part of my life outside of work.
