Danielle Carter

Physiotherapist

BHK, MPT

What is your background & training?

I completed my Master of Physical Therapy at the University of British Columbia, and my Bachelor of Human Kinetics with a Minor in Biology at the University of British Columbia Okanagan. I have received my level 1 certification in the National Orthopaedic Division Advanced Integrated Musculoskeletal (AIM) Physiotherapy Program. Previously I have worked as an artistic gymnastics coach and powerlifting coach. Overall, I really enjoy using manual therapy techniques, education, and individualized exercise prescription to help my clients reach their goals.

What inspired you to choose this career path?

Growing up I was a competitive gymnast, which led to a fair amount of injuries and physiotherapy visits. This experience really led to my passion for learning about the human body, how it moves, and how to recover from injuries. I always wanted a career where I could work with people every day and help them get back to the activities they love, so physiotherapy seemed like the perfect fit.

Why do you choose to work at Treloar?

I really appreciate that Treloar offers mentorship and regular continued education to help me keep up to date and continue developing skills throughout my career. I value having a supportive, team-oriented environment where I look forward to going to work every day. I personally had a wonderful experience as a patient at Treloar Physiotherapy Kerrisdale and wanted to be a part of the team.

What are you personally passionate about?

I personally enjoy maintaining an active lifestyle and exploring what Vancouver has to offer.

Outside of the clinic you can find me snowboarding at Whistler, hiking, lifting weights, or trying out new places to eat and coffee shops.
