Deb Treloar

Partner, Physiotherapist, Adjunct Professor, UBC Department of Physical Therapy

BSR, FCAMPT, FDN

What is your background & training?

With 40 years of experience as a physiotherapist I am not sure there is any ‘background’ anymore. I found a profession that has given me life-long learning, has challenged me to be better in every way, has provided me with many inspirational colleagues, and has allowed me to express myself clinically and as a teacher. I have always had a special interest in treating people with foot and ankle issues but experience has taught me that the body is interconnected and in order to facilitate improved function in one area I must look at the whole.

What inspired you to choose this career path?

I have always been interested in sports, outdoor activities, science, reading, teaching and working with people. I started off university with the goal of becoming a teacher and along the way was steered toward physiotherapy. Once I knew what physiotherapy was, I knew it was the perfect career for me.

Why do you choose to work at Treloar?

When we started Treloar Physiotherapy we never imagined that it would be what it is today. The people we work with as colleagues and our clients make the work fun and satisfying and the business has grown organically as a result.

What are you personally passionate about?

I love my family and friends, my work and the outdoors.  I love to move, to play and to learn.
