Talia Berson

Physiotherapist, Clinical Pilates Instructor

B.Kin, MPT

What is your background & training?

Talia completed her Master of Physical Therapy degree after receiving her Bachelor of Kinesiology degree, both at the University of British Columbia. She has completed the Calibrate comprehensive clinical pilates training. When not at Treloar, Talia also works at BC Children’s hospital. She is currently working on her level 1 dance physiotherapy certification.

What inspired you to choose this career path?

Growing up, Talia competed within the world of dance, soccer, as well as field hockey which she continues playing today. During her time in the world of competitive sport, she dealt with many injuries which taught her the value of physical rehabilitation and how it impacts one’s ability to return to the activities they enjoy. Talia understands that injuries are not only a part of sport, but a part of everyday life. She is committed to providing care that enhances recovery outcomes and focuses on the entire individual and their goals to keep up with the demands of work, life, or sport.

Why do you choose to work at Treloar?

Having previously been a Kinesiologist at Treloar, I knew that the culture and the team environment that has been created here is unique. The amazing team members have created a welcoming environment which fosters learning, growth, and professional development.

What are you personally passionate about?

I am passionate about creating an environment that allows for people to reach their rehabilitation goals in a manner that translates not only to activity, but to their lives as well. Allowing people to be active decision makers in the care allows them to take these skills and apply them to all aspects of their life and reach their fullest potential. I have a special interest in working with athletes and dancers across the lifespan.
