MPT, BSc (Hons), IMS

What is your background & training?

I completed my bachelor degree in cellular, molecular, microbial biology at Thompson River’s University  in 2008 and graduated from the University of Alberta in 2011 with a masters in physical therapy.  I have completed my level 5 in manual and manipulative therapy through the Canadian Orthopaedic Division as well other courses in advanced manual therapy.  I have also taken integrated dry needling courses and am on the roster to do IMS.  I have experience treating a wide demographic of patients ranging from professional athletes to individuals with complex pain disorders.  With my solid background in strength and conditioning, I have been involved with various forms of competitive strength training such as powerlifting and strongman.

What inspired you to choose this career path?

I was inspired to pick this career path because I wanted to have a direct and positive impact on helping others in a real and practical way. Having dealt with a multitude of sports and training injuries in the past I understand the impact on the individual when you are unable to do the activities you are passionate about and the importance of being able to return to these activities.

Why do you choose to work at Treloar?

I choose to work at Treloar because of the devotion this clinic has to patient care and the pursuit of knowledge.  The core values of the clinic are authentic and resonate with me.  Furthermore, the team at Treloar is outstanding.  Everybody here is passionate about what they do and they push you to become a better practitioner.

What are you personally passionate about?

I am personally passionate about being able to change how an individual moves their body through manual therapy and exercise and the impact that has on someone in all areas of their life. The connection with the mind and the body is fascinating and being a catalyst for positive change is fulfilling and rewarding.
