Physiotherapist, Concussion & Vestibular Rehabilitation

BKin, MScPT

What is your background & training?

I completed my Kinesiology undergrad at the University of Regina before moving to Vancouver where I spent 3 years working as a kinesiologist in concussion rehabilitation. From Vancouver I moved to Glasgow, Scotland where I completed my MSc Physiotherapy. While in Scotland I worked in the NHS public sector in acute medical and MSK outpatient care and as head physiotherapist for premiership men’s and women’s rugby, as well as head physiotherapist for the Scotland men’s national field lacrosse team. Since returning to Vancouver I’ve jumped back in with VRC rugby and I’m excited to be back in a clinical setting at Treloar.

What inspired you to choose this career path?

The knocks and bumps I’ve picked up through high level sport makes empathising and wanting to help a natural trajectory. I think the magic of physiotherapy comes from understanding the person in front of you, and that’s the part that I enjoy most!

Why do you choose to work at Treloar?

It’s easy to list the reasons why the team are all outstanding clinicians and to talk about the family feel and emphasis on personal growth, but the big driver is how the team cares about each other and their patients. It’s a unique clinic and one I’m lucky to be a part of!

What are you personally passionate about?

I have to stay active, and Vancouver is the best place for that! I’m currently working through my own Achilles rehab, but as that gets stronger I’ll be back on the soccer pitch and on the mountain as often as possible.
