Treloar Physiotherapy Clinic FAQ

Please see below a list of questions that are most commonly asked of us. If you have a question regarding your appointment that is not addressed below, please contact our reception team directly as they will be pleased to assist you.

This varies from patient to patient depending on the scope of your injury or reason for your visit. During your first session, your practitioner will conduct a thorough initial assessment and discuss your treatment plan with you. You will then work together on your individual goals for your wellness journey.

Our leading edge team of Physiotherapists are expected to go beyond the basic Physiotherapy skills and work towards becoming Fellows of the Canadian Orthopaedic Manipulative Physiotherapists Association (FCAMPT). To achieve this designation they must have excellent manual skills and a thorough knowledge of assessment and treatment approaches for patients with orthopaedic problems. Many of our practitioners have further training such as IMS, Acupuncture, Vestibular & Concussion Rehabilitation, Shockwave Therapy, Pelvic Floor Therapy and Clinical Pilates.

There is ample metered street parking at both locations and access to parking lots nearby. Click on the links below to view a parking map.

We do direct billing with most extended health insurance providers; in addition to Worksafe BC & ICBC. Please contact the location you are attending to ensure we can bill with your insurance prior to your appointment. If we cannot bill directly, we will provide you with a detailed receipt that you can submit to your provider for reimbursement.

Only those MSP beneficiaries with premium assistance status are eligible for a combined annual limit (each calendar year) of 10 visits for acupuncture, physiotherapy, massage therapy, chiropractic, naturopathy and non-surgical podiatry. All services are subject to a surcharge per appointment – please contact us to enquire what the amount would be for your service type.

You must be enrolled for MSP before receiving coverage. For more information click here.

In most cases, a referral from your doctor is not required to receive Physiotherapy. Although, some private insurance companies require a doctor’s referral before providing extended coverage so we encourage you to check with your carrier directly.

For WSBC and ICBC claims, a doctor’s referral is required in some specific cases. You should speak with your case manager to determine if it is required for your claim.

Please arrive 15 minutes early to fill out a New Patient Form. If you have completed a New Patient Form online, please arrive 5 minutes prior to your appointment.

Initial appointments will be approximately 30 minutes to one hour depending on your injury or reason for visit. Follow up appointments are 20 – 30 minutes unless your therapist has arranged for an extended follow up visit or you have been referred to a Kinesiologist for active rehabilitation exercises following your appointment.
