Conor O’Flaherty

Kinesiologist

MKin, BKin, CSCS

What is your background & training?

I am a certified strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS) with a Master’s and Bachelor’s in Kinesiology from UBC. During my Bachelor’s I was fortunate to volunteer under the top S&C coaches in BC as an undergraduate coach in the Smith and Laycoe varsity weightroom, then worked as a Kinesiologist for over 4 years at a chronic pain specialty clinic through my Master’s and beyond.

What inspired you to choose this career path?

My first true injury experience was at 14 years old dislocating my patella playing rugby, and in my 12-year playing and injury career I got to spend time with incredible strength coaches and physios that inspired me to invest in myself and others to help overcome their adversity and achieve their potential.

Why do you choose to work at Treloar?

Treloar’s standards of excellence and multidisciplinary model of care allow me to work at my best, which will help you realize the results you have been searching for.

What are you personally passionate about?

After finishing my rugby career as a professional with the Vancouver Highlanders, coaching in all it’s forms is now my absolute passion. I am a 1st XV coach for the UBC Thunderbirds, head of the UBC Boys Rugby Academy, and am a fan of all sports with grit and determination! When I’m not coaching I’m either at home with my fiancée or at the gym setting a new personal best.
