What is your background & training?
I completed my Master of Physical Therapy at the University of British Columbia and my Bachelors in Kinesiology with a minor in psychology back in my home province at the University of Saskatchewan. In January, I will have completed Level 1 National Orthopaedic Division Advanced Integrated Musculoskeletal (AIM) Physiotherapy Program and Clinical Pilates certification through Calibrate. In past years I have been a student trainer for varsity volleyball, as well as 6 years’ experience teaching swimming.
What inspired you to choose this career path?
I have always been drawn to health, physiology and movement, and physiotherapy is the perfect blend. Since my childhood sports have been a big part of my life and with that some injuries along the way introduced physiotherapy to me. When picking a career, I wanted to be able to understand people’s stories and find a way to make a sustainable, long term oriented difference to peoples’ health and wellbeing. I love seeing the empowering effect physiotherapy has and it gets people out there doing what brings them joy.
Why do you choose to work at Treloar?
I was drawn to Treloar because of its’ team environment which supports mentorship and continued education. As a clinician I feel supported and challenged to continuously refine my skills and knowledge base. The team at Treloar truly feels like a team which makes going to work super enjoyable!
What are you personally passionate about?
I’m passionate about getting outdoors and enjoying the active lifestyle that Vancouver and BC have to offer. Lifting weights, hiking, running, xc skiing, volleyball and yoga are the staples in my routine and when I have more time backcountry hiking and canoeing call my name! Outside of active pursuits I enjoy painting and sketching!
