Jinny Hwang
Physiotherapist
MPT, BSc Kin
What is your background & training?
I graduated from the University of Alberta with a BSc in Kinesiology and continued my training in the UBC Master of Physical Therapy program to deepen my focus on active rehabilitation. I also spent several years working as a kinesiologist and Pilates instructor. Throughout my studies and clinical work, I have built a strong foundation in personalized care by working with various populations, including varsity athletes, children with disabilities, and adults with neurological conditions.
What inspired you to choose this career path?
My interest in physiotherapy began as a high school sports trainer and grew through working with the varsity volleyball team and participating in multiple team sports. I have always been fascinated by the complexity of the human body and its capacity to recover through movement. I enjoy the creativity behind designing programs that help clients move better and return to meaningful activities. This passion for supporting people in living active, healthy lives is what led me to physiotherapy.
Why do you choose to work at Treloar?
Treloar Physio stood out to me for its high standards, strong learning culture, and patient-centered approach. I am excited to work in an open, multidisciplinary environment where I can learn from experienced clinicians and contribute my background in Pilates and active rehab. Treloar’s values align closely with my own, and its genuine commitment to helping people move and feel better makes it an ideal place for me to continue growing as a clinician.
What are you personally passionate about?
I am passionate about mindful movement, rehabilitation, and helping people feel confident in their bodies. Outside of the clinic, I value living an active lifestyle and enjoy playing field hockey, snowboarding, and hiking. I also love to travel and explore different cultures and cuisines, which keeps me curious and energized both personally and professionally.
