Allison Evers
Physiotherapist, Clinical Pilates Instructor
BSc, BKin, MPT
What is your background & training?
I completed my education at the University of British Columbia’s Vancouver campus, where I obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Biology. I continued at UBC to obtain a Masters of Physical Therapy (MPT) in 2022. I hold a Level 1 Orthopedic Manual Therapy certification and have advanced training in the assessment and treatment of pelvic floor dysfunction, including urinary and bowel control, and pelvic organ prolapse. In addition, I am a Clinical Pilates instructor, having completed the rehabilitation stream (Mat and Reformer) in STOTT Pilates. I bring sensitivity to my practice, and hope to promote a respectful environment that is responsive to my clients’ individual preferences, needs, and values.
What inspired you to choose this career path?
Growing up, I often saw a physiotherapist for injuries from playing competitive soccer and field hockey. My physiotherapist had a big impact on my ability to stay active in sports and I felt inspired to provide the same care and support to others. In addition, the realm of physiotherapy is ever-changing. You’re always learning what’s new and using your creativity to come up with personalized exercises for your clients.
Why do you choose to work at Treloar?
I was attracted to Treloar because of the great team atmosphere and their commitment to lifelong learning.
What are you personally passionate about?
Working with mothers getting back into activity post-partum.
Outside of work, I enjoy running, spin, and camping on weekends. You can also find me in the kitchen experimenting with new baking recipes!
