BScKin, MScPT, Dip.Manip.PT, FCAMPT, CAFCI, CGTTP

What is your background & training?

I studied Kinesiology at Simon Fraser University as an undergraduate and went on to complete my Masters in Physical Therapy at the University of Alberta. I have successfully completed the Canadian Physiotherapy Association Orthopedic Division’s Advanced Examination in Manual and Manipulative Therapy and am a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapists.  I am also certified in acupuncture through the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada and in dry-needling (Gokavi Transverse Technique).

In addition, I am a Clinical Pilates Instructor having completed the rehabilitation stream (Mat and Reformer) in STOTT pilates.  I enjoy treating all types of patients and firmly believe in an individualized, multi-modal treatment philosophy combining manual therapy, dry-needling/acupuncture, pilates and other specific exercise techniques to improve mobility, restore function and prevent injury.

What inspired you to choose this career path?

I have always loved to study the human body and movement, and during my undergraduate training, had the opportunity to work in a physiotherapy clinic. It really opened my eyes to what physiotherapists do in their practice and how they use their skills to assess and treat. My career so far has been an amazing journey of perpetual learning, with each day presenting a new opportunity to use the various tools in my toolbox to get my patients feeling and moving better.

Why do you choose to work at Treloar?

I choose to work at Treloar because it truly is an environment that fosters mentorship, learning, personal growth and values the skills each individual brings to the team. I come to work each and every day, having fun doing the work I love, surrounded by great, inspiring people who really are my “work family”.

What are you personally passionate about?

I am passionate about leading a healthy, happy and active life. I try to keep smiling while juggling work life, home life and me time. As a parent of young kids, it is important for me to show them that you can have an awesome career while still have quality time with your family and free time to also do individual things like play your own sports or do your own soul satisfying stuff. As a family, we love to travel, go out and spend time creating new memories.
