Drew Ruby

Physiotherapist

BKin, MScPT

What is your background & training?

I completed my Master of Science in Physical Therapy degree from Queen’s University. As a physical therapist I have gained experience working in orthopedics for various conditions, acute stroke, and COPD rehabilitation. Before attending Queen’s, I received my Bachelor of Kinesiology with a specialization in Exercise Science from the University of the Fraser Valley. I previously worked as a kinesiologist at Treloar Physiotherapy Clinic, at an orthotics company, as an athletic trainer, and with individuals living with stroke, prior to becoming a physiotherapist.

What inspired you to choose this career path?

I chose to pursue a career in rehabilitation after utilizing physiotherapy for many foot and ankle injuries myself during my time as a collegiate volleyball player. The skills and knowledge of other physiotherapists intrigued me and made me want to learn how to manage these aches and pains for myself and others.

Why do you choose to work at Treloar?

From previously working here as a Kinesiologist, I knew that Treloar set itself apart from other clinics with their exceptionally skilled therapists and prioritization of continuing education. As well, the clinic has a very friendly environment which helps support everyone within the team.

What are you personally passionate about?

Outside of work I enjoy travelling and looking for new places to eat (primarily because I am not a good cook). I have also convinced myself that I like to golf even though it frustrates me endlessly.
