Melissa Pham

Physiotherapist, Clinical Pilates

MPT, BHK, CGIMS

What is your background & training?

I completed a Bachelors in Human Kinetics at UBC in 2009 and continued on to complete my Masters in Physical Therapy at UBC in 2011.  I have primarily worked in private practice with the general orthopedic population and have since done further training in manual therapy and received certification to perform acupunture (Acupuncture Canada) and intramuscular stimulation (Chan Gun IMS).  In addition, I am certified as a clinical pilates instructor through Calibrate Pilates.

What inspired you to choose this career path?

I had a lot of personal experience with physiotherapy as a teenager after multiple sport related injuries.  But it was my time volunteering in an adapted aquatics department while I was completing my bachelor degree that I found joy and fulfillment in working with people of various abilities and being part of their rehabilitation journey.

Why do you choose to work at Treloar?

Treloar has a great reputation for quality of care for their clients and providing superior support and education to their staff.  You are surrounded by practitioners with a vast amount of knowledge and experience and it is a privilege to be a part of that team.

What are you personally passionate about?

I love to be active and enjoy running, swimming, and playing volleyball.  But I also really enjoy reading, drinking coffee on the couch, and spending my down time with my husband and kids.
