Sourna Vafadary
Kinesiologist
BKin
What is your background & training?
I did my undergraduate studies in Kinesiology at SFU and my graduate studies in Kinesiology at UBC. Growing up, I was involved in many sports but mostly played soccer. During my time at SFU, I was volunteering with the athletic therapists, providing care and treatment to varsity athletes recovering from injuries. Since graduation and prior to joining Treloar, I worked as a Personal Trainer and Kinesiologist at a fitness studio, helping individuals build strength and confidence to lead active lives!
What inspired you to choose this career path?
Exercise has played a very important role in my life. I think being active and exercising is one of the best ways someone can take care of themselves, and I love to teach people how to exercise and help instill in them the confidence that they can exercise. I want to help break down barriers preventing people from being active, so they can also find the same value in exercise that I have.
Why do you choose to work at Treloar?
Treloar strives for excellence, which is something I value personally and in my practice! Recovery can be hard but with a supportive group of practitioners that continuously strives to be the best and provide the best care to their patients, it becomes a little easier.
What are you personally passionate about?
I’m passionate about sports and trying out new activities! I like to be open to new experiences and challenges because there’s no better way of proving what I’m capable of doing.
