What is your background & training?
I completed my B.Sc in Kinesiology at Simon Fraser University with a certificate in Active Health and Rehabilitation. I then went on to complete my Masters in Physical Therapy at the University of British Columbia in 2011.
Once practicing, I pursued the Advanced Diploma of Manual and Manipulative Therapy and became a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Therapy (FCAMPT) in 2017. I am a Certified STOTT Rehab Pilates Instructor with training in all apparatus (Matwork, Reformer, Cadillac, Chair & Barrels) and have done training with Kinetacore to administer Functional Dry Needling treatments.
What inspired you to choose this career path?
I was interested in working in the healthcare arena and have always personally enjoyed an active lifestyle. Physiotherapy appealed to me because it allows me to promote healthy living and to help other people be active.
Why do you choose to work at Treloar?
I feel that anyone who has been to Treloar can speak to the positive environment that exists at the clinic. I appreciate the energy of my colleagues every day and the fact that I feel that I am part of a family. There is also a wealth of experience and clinical expertise at Treloar, which is very helpful if there is a tough scenario or a case that I want to discuss.
What are you personally passionate about?
I really enjoy getting outside in our beautiful corner of the world. I love running on the seawall, biking to Horseshoe Bay and hiking the mountains that stretch up the sea to sky. I am lucky enough to get to do these activities with my partner, dog and soon enough my young unsuspecting son too!
